Our First Rescue
Our Club members and Board of Directors became involved in rescuing Havanese, fostering and placing Havanese dogs that we believed would have dire future life prospects if not rescued. It was from this concern that on April 1, 2010, the Gold Country Havanese Rescue Incorporated was formed and became a 501(c)(3) approved organization. We rescue Havanese that are often lost, abandoned, neglected, abused, or owner surrendered. Our rescue dogs are placed in foster homes and checked for health and temperament, brought up-to-date on vaccinations, and spayed or neutered before placement. Prospective homes are carefully screened to ensure that the adoptive family and the dog are suited for one another. If you would like to adopt a Rescue dog or Foster a rescue dog, you can fill out an online “Adoption Application” or download a hard copy of our adoption application here and return by mail or uploading your file using our contact form.
